DOP Engineering eagerly accepted the challenge presented by Pedro Falcon Contractors to undertake the design and construction of a custom curved glazing system. This innovative project demanded meticulous calculations and careful planning to ensure both the glass elements and the supporting aluminum structure were perfectly aligned.
The centerpiece of the project is a remarkably large and elegantly curved window. This architectural feature adds a distinct touch of sophistication and modernity to the overall design, elevating the aesthetic appeal of the structure. Furthermore, the curved design of the window enhances visual interest and creates a sense of fluidity within the space.
Leveraging the advanced capabilities of the RFEM5 program, our team meticulously developed the intricate glass module. This cutting-edge technology allowed us to achieve unparalleled precision and efficiency throughout the design process, ensuring the highest quality standards were met. In addition, the RFEM5 program facilitated seamless collaboration among team members, enhancing workflow efficiency and project coordination.

DOP Engineering proudly provided comprehensive structural engineering services for a new 2-story mixed-use building spanning approximately 11,285 square feet in Hobe Sound, Florida.
Particularly, our expertise in structural design and analysis played a vital role in ensuring the safety, stability, and resilience of this impressive structure.
Firstly, our team meticulously designed wall footings and implemented isolated footings to optimize stability and load distribution, aligning with allowable soil bearing capacity.
Additionally, we utilized a CMU (Concrete Masonry Unit) wall framing system supplemented by poured tie-beams and concrete columns to create a robust structural framework.
Equally important, for the second floor, we successfully applied the Epicore system, incorporating key large concrete beams measuring approximately 12×24 feet.
Subsequently, prefabricated roof trusses were strategically positioned based on load distribution analysis, enabling the design of a flexible diaphragm and strategic placement of straps for enhanced structural resilience and lateral behaviour.

Sitting in the heart of Hollywood, Florida’s design district, The Door Shop renovated their new state of the art 40,000+ sf warehouse and showroom where they completely transformed the space to accommodate their inventory area and showroom to allow for over 25 employees to work.
DOP Engineering provided the design for cutting-edge interior glass safeguard walls. Our project with The Door Shop in Hollywood, Florida showcases our expertise in designing architectural and structural glass partitions, along with a durable and aesthetically pleasing aluminum framing system. We meticulously designed connections to the mezzanine deck and the existing roof’s steel joists to ensure structural integrity.
