For this project in Weston, Florida, DOP Engineering provided structural drawings for a custom aluminum pergola designed to enhance outdoor living. Placed near the pool, this pergola offers both shade and architectural appeal while ensuring long-term durability in outdoor conditions.
The pergola features aluminum posts and beams, selected for their strength, lightweight nature, and resistance to corrosion. The roof consists of composite aluminum panels, which provide protection from the elements while maintaining a modern, clean aesthetic. A reinforced concrete foundation secures the structure, ensuring stability against wind loads and daily use.
Structural integrity was a key factor in the design process. The pergola’s aluminum framework was engineered to distribute loads efficiently, reducing stress on individual components. Client: The Door Shop
Sitting in the heart of Hollywood, Florida’s design district, The Door Shop renovated their new state of the art 40,000+ sf warehouse and showroom where they completely transformed the space to accommodate their inventory area and showroom to allow for over 25 employees to work.
DOP Engineering provided the design for cutting-edge interior glass safeguard walls. Our project with The Door Shop in Hollywood, Florida showcases our expertise in designing architectural and structural glass partitions, along with a durable and aesthetically pleasing aluminum framing system. We meticulously designed connections to the mezzanine deck and the existing roof’s steel joists to ensure structural integrity.

For Emm-Trace Inc.’s project at Gulliver Academy in Pinecrest, Florida, DOP Engineering designed a range of custom metal solutions to enhance both functionality and aesthetics.
The primary feature is a striking screen for the parking garage. This screen consists of vertical square tubes, colored in various shades of green, adding a vibrant touch to the structure.
We designed aluminum stair railings extending from the entry level to the 4th floor. These railings provide safety and support while maintaining a sleek and modern appearance. Wall-mounted handrails were installed for both stairs and ramps, offering additional support and safety for users. These handrails are crafted to meet all safety standards while blending seamlessly with the building’s design.
Our team also designed several protective components, including steel bollards, steel corner guards, and pipe guards. These elements ensure the structural integrity and safety of key areas within the facility.
We incorporated louvers at the facade using the Ruskin system, which not only enhances the building’s exterior aesthetics but also provides functional benefits such as improved airflow and shading.
The project included steel track guard railings and a steel chiller yard ladder, ensuring safety and accessibility in critical areas.
Finally, we designed a mechanical roof screen to conceal rooftop equipment, as well as a folding partition support to facilitate flexible use of interior spaces.
Our collaboration with Emm-Trace Inc. on the Gulliver Academy project in Pinecrest, Florida, has been a rewarding experience.
