Project Type: Specialty & Component Design
Location: Miami, Florida
For this modern Miami residence, DOP Engineering provided structural solutions for key design elements, including a staircase, glass railings, and a hurricane-resistant pivot door. Our expertise ensured that these components met both aesthetic and structural demands, enhancing the home’s functionality and resilience.
The staircase required a well-engineered support system to balance style and stability. We developed detailed structural drawings specifying steel framing and critical connections, allowing for an open, modern look without compromising strength.
This project included two types of glass railings: a standoff glass railing and a base shoe glass railing. Our structural drawings accounted for load distribution and secure installation, ensuring safety while preserving the home’s sleek, transparent design.
A key feature of this home is its oversized pivot door, designed to meet Miami’s strict hurricane resistance standards. Given its height and weight, we engineered an internal steel tubing structure, known as the internal mullion system, to reinforce it against high wind loads while maintaining its modern aesthetic.
DOP Engineering played a vital role in bringing these structural elements to life, ensuring this Miami residence blends durability with contemporary design. Our team continues to deliver innovative solutions for high-performance homes.

Location: Hollywood, Florida
Client: MSB Development, LLC
Status: Under Construction
DOP Engineering is thrilled to provide an update on our latest project, a warehouse located in Hollywood, Florida. This new building showcases innovative structural design to meet the needs of our client’s business operations.
Our team has meticulously crafted a robust structural design to ensure the safety and stability of this 1-story commercial building spanning approximately 10,000 square feet. With expertise in structural analysis and design, we’ve incorporated techniques to optimize the functionality and resilience of the structure.
Moreover, our commitment to precision extends to the creation of detailed and precise drawings. These drawings ensured accuracy during construction, matching real-life dimensions and features to streamline the building process.
One of the key highlights of this project is the use of CMU (Concrete Masonry Unit) wall framing system, providing reinforced strength and durability. This technique allowed for faster and more efficient construction, as it eliminates the need of traditional formwork and shoring.
Additionally, the roof features twin tees, prefabricated and prestressed to accommodate spans of up to 40 feet, ensuring structural integrity.
To maximize space and flexibility within the warehouse, our design incorporates a column-free layout, with load-bearing walls providing support throughout the structure. This innovative approach enhances the usability of the space and allows for seamless workflow operations.
In addition to our structural design services, DOP Engineering conducted special inspections throughout the construction process to ensure compliance with building codes and standards.
We are proud to collaborate with our partners at MSB Development, LLC to bring this project to life. Together, we’ve combined our expertise to deliver a high-quality, functional, and visually appealing warehouse facility.
Services: Structural Design, Structural Drawings, Inspections, Specialty Design

Location: Hobe Sound, Florida
Client: Marjorie Carrillo Architect, PLLC
Status: Under Construction
DOP Engineering proudly provided comprehensive structural engineering services for a new 2-story mixed-use building spanning approximately 11,285 square feet in Hobe Sound, Florida.
Particularly, our expertise in structural design and analysis played a vital role in ensuring the safety, stability, and resilience of this impressive structure.
Firstly, our team meticulously designed wall footings and implemented isolated footings to optimize stability and load distribution, aligning with allowable soil bearing capacity.
Additionally, we utilized a CMU (Concrete Masonry Unit) wall framing system supplemented by poured tie-beams and concrete columns to create a robust structural framework.
Equally important, for the second floor, we successfully applied the Epicore system, incorporating key large concrete beams measuring approximately 12×24 feet.
Subsequently, prefabricated roof trusses were strategically positioned based on load distribution analysis, enabling the design of a flexible diaphragm and strategic placement of straps for enhanced structural resilience and lateral behaviour.
Undoubtedly our commitment to excellence is evident in this project, showcasing our dedication to innovation, precision, and quality at DOP Engineering.
Above all, we are proud to have contributed to the successful realization of this new mixed-use building in collaboration with Marjorie Carrillo Architect, PLLC.
